Tart of the Month - Quick Dessert Tarts

I was away this weekend four our third annual cousins retreat where my sister-in-law and three lady cousins and I enjoy a weekend in Blue Mountain, Ontario.

We enjoy great food and drinks.

Including lots of junk food.

For dessert I decided to make some quick, ad hoc tarts from simple, easy to transport ingredients.  I brought some puff pastry, caramel sauce and Nutella. I cut the puff pastry into small squares, poked them all over with a fork and baked them on parchment at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

While the puff pastry was cooking we got some berries ready. You could use any fruit you like - apples would be nice with the caramel, or nuts or

Once they were puffy, golden brown and warm, we could top them any way we wanted.

Nutella and berries was delicious but caramel with flaky sea salt was the real winner.

Not fancy but so easy. It's a great trick to have up your sleeve when heading to the cottage or for a quick dessert at home.

Enjoy!
